Using the application

Access the application​

Once you have installed the Groups Manager application, you can access by clicking on the dedicated tab:

Then the application will display all the groups of the board.

Create new group​

Click on the Create group button

You can also click between two groups:

Rename group​

Click on the group name to edit its name. Press Enter once your done, or click outside the input.

Change group color​

Click on the color icon to open the color palette.

Reorder groups​

Groups can be reordered using the arrow up / down at the end of each group

You can also drag and drop the group by clicking on the draggable icon at the beginning of the group

Sort groups​

Click on the Sort by name buttons in the toolbar. You can either:

  • Sort by name ascendent
  • Sort by name descendent
  • Revert to the initial board order

Archive group​

You can archive a group by using the Archive button. The group is not directly archived, but moved to the bottom "Groups to archive or delete" area. Click on the same button to undo this action.

Delete group​

You can delete a group by using the Delete button. The group is not directly deleted, but moved to the bottom "Groups to archive or delete" area. Click on the same button to undo this action.

Empty groups​

If a group doesn't have any items, a "Empty" label is added.

You can perform bulk operation on these empty groups.

Bulk archive empty groups​

You can click on the empty groups "Archive" button to archive and move any empty group to the bottom "Groups to archive or delete" area. Empty groups already in this area will not be concerned by this action.

Bulk delete empty groups​

You can click on the empty groups "Delete" button to delete and move any empty group to the bottom "Groups to archive or delete" area. Empty groups already in this area will not be concerned by this action.

Revert changes​

You can revert your changes at different levels

It's not possible to revert any changes after clicking on the "Apply changes" button.

Revert creation of a group​

After creating a group, a + icon is added in front of the group. You can revert the creation by clicking on the group "Remove" button.

Revert edition of a group​

After editing the name or the color of a group, a pen icon is added in front of the group. You can revert these changes by clicking on the group "Revert changes" button.

Revert previous actions​

You can cancel your latest changes by clicking the Undo button. Also, you can redo this action by clicking on the Redo button?

Revert all changes​

You can revert all changes by clicking on the bottom Cancel changes button. This will show groups as they are currently in your board.

Apply changes​

Once you made all your changes, just click the Apply changes to validate. A windows with the progression will appear.

Do not close the app during this operation. Else, only a part of your change will by applied.

If you have a lot of groups, applying your change can take time. Also, monday.com apply limitation to the API used by this app. If we detect we are near a limitation, the app will pause for 1 minute in order to avoir reaching this limit.
